Open City Documentary Festival: Rebel of the Keys

7 September 2017 | 20:30 | Crouch End Picturehouse, 165 Tottenham Ln, London N8 9BY

A fascinating study of the life and times of pianist, composer and ‘enfant-terrible’ André Tchaikowsky told alongside the story of the first performance of his opera adaptation of The Merchant of Venice, the realisation of which was his dying wish. The complexity of André’s music and some hitherto surprising events in his life, all lead to an ending that would please this contrary but fascinating individual.

Followed by a Q&A with co-writer Anastasia Belina-Johnson.
